Guests were greeted by an Aston Martin Rapide as LORD’s launched their Autumn/Winter 2015 Spy Capsule Collection at the KL Fashion Weekend. The entire collection was designed around the idea of “How to Dress Like a Spy” – inspired by the recent series of spy films, such as Kingsman: The Secret Service, Hitman: Agent 47, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, and Spectre 2015.
The curated luxury collection includes some creative collaterals in guiding men how to dress like a spy for different event settings, such as to the office, to the field, to a cocktail event and etc. Customers should be pleased to note that all the bespoke clothing pieces and accessories from the collection are available to order or purchase after the show.
The most expensive item in the collection is actually the double breasted overcoat made of cashmere and wool. The other suits were all made from 100% wool but are light weight to suit the weather in Malaysia. The natural nature of the fabric and lightness makes them breathable and comfortable to wear.
One of the most unique items in the collection is actually a white shirt, made from one of the finest Italian cotton, worn by 2 of the models that has a tie collar bar. The eyelets that holds the tie collar bar have to hand stitched making the shirt a truly exclusive product. When worn with a tie, the tie collar bar actually lifts the tie at the knot. Some people choose not to wear with a tie as a fashion statement.
This is the first time a collection inspired by James Bond and Kingsman movies has ever been done in Asia. And it was launched with much fanfare with Dennis Lau opening the night with a spirited violin cover of “Writings on the Wall”, Spectre’s theme song, with a video of Dennis wearing LORD’s.
The show, which was attended by a full house of guests, then started with 2 models revving up Ducati super bikes on the runway to pave the way for the fashion show. Towards the middle of the fashion show, guests were then treated to the surprise performance of the night by Ning Baizura who sang a heart-rendering cover of “Writings on the Wall” for the finale with VIP guests models Nazim Othman and Amber Chia followed by appearances by Miss World Malaysia – Yvonne Lee, Miss World Malaysia – Chloe Chen and Mrs Universe 2013 – Carol Lee at the finale walk wearing iconic pieces from Zandra Rhodes’ Heritage Collection. Ning then closed the night by signing Skyfall.
Besides the star performances by Dennis Lau and Ning Baizura, the star studded night was attended by Datuk Jimmy Choo, Nazim Othman, Amber Chia, Iqram Dinzly, Wak Doyok, Dato Mahadzir Lokman who was the MC, Director of Trade Commission of British High Commission – Mr Collingridge, Actor Daler Yusuf and fashion veteran Zaihani Mohd Zain.
